1. Principles and Editorial Independence

Mutawatir: Jurnal Keilmuan Tafsir Hadith maintains strict editorial independence in accordance with the ethical guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics. All advertising, sponsorship, and direct marketing activities must not influence editorial decisions, peer review processes, or the integrity of published content.

Editorial content is evaluated solely based on academic merit, relevance, and scholarly contribution, without regard to any commercial or promotional considerations.

2. Transparency and Separation of Content

All advertisements are clearly distinguishable from editorial content. The journal ensures:

  • No advertisement is presented in a way that could be interpreted as scholarly content.
  • Advertisements are not placed adjacent to specific articles in a manner that implies endorsement.
  • Sponsored content, if any, is explicitly labeled.

3. Compliance with National Regulations

As a journal published by a public university in Indonesia, all advertising and marketing activities must comply with:

  • Indonesian national laws and regulations on publishing and public communication.
  • Institutional policies of Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Ampel Surabaya.
  • Ethical standards governing academic publishing and public sector accountability.

The journal does not accept advertisements that conflict with public ethics, religious values, or national interests.

4. Acceptable Advertising Content

The journal may accept advertisements related to:

  • Academic publications (books, journals, databases)
  • Conferences, seminars, and scholarly events
  • Educational institutions and research programs

All advertisements must be relevant to the journal’s scope (Qur’anic and Hadith studies or related academic fields) and must not be misleading, deceptive, or inappropriate.

5. Prohibited Advertising

The journal strictly prohibits advertisements that:

  • Contain false, misleading, or unverifiable claims
  • Promote political agendas, sectarian bias, or ideological propaganda
  • Include content that is discriminatory, unethical, or contrary to Islamic values and Indonesian law
  • Compromising the academic integrity or reputation of the journal

6. Direct Marketing Practices

All direct marketing activities (including email campaigns, calls for papers, and promotional materials):

  • Must be accurate, transparent, and not misleading
  • Should target relevant academic audiences (researchers, scholars, institutions)
  • Must not involve aggressive, excessive, or spam-like distribution practices
  • Should clearly identify Mutawatir as the sender and provide valid contact information

The journal adheres to ethical communication standards and respects recipient privacy and consent.

7. Right to Review and Reject

The editorial office reserves the right to review, accept, reject, or remove any advertisement or marketing material at its sole discretion, particularly if it violates ethical standards, institutional policies, or applicable regulations.

8. Feedback and Complaints

Readers, authors, and stakeholders may submit complaints or feedback regarding advertisements or marketing practices. All concerns will be handled transparently and in line with COPE principles.
