- Religion and culture in everyday life
- Indigenous and local religious traditions
- Interreligious relations and dialogue
- Religion, politics, and social transformation
- Authority, identity, and community in religious practice
- Religion in relation to media, gender, economy, and human rights
Although the journal prioritizes research on Indonesia and Southeast Asia, it also invites comparative and cross-cultural studies that contribute to broader theoretical and methodological debates in religious studies.
