As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Teosofi: Jurnal Tasawuf dan Pemikiran Islam is a high-quality, open-access, peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Department of Aqidah and Islamic Philosophy, Faculty of Ushuluddin and Philosophy, at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. The journal is published in English.

Teosofi offers an international forum for scholarly research on Sufism, Islamic philosophy, Islamic theology, and Islamic thought. Adopting a broad interdisciplinary approach, the journal integrates diverse perspectives across the humanities and social sciences. It publishes rigorously peer-reviewed articles that explore the historical, cultural, social, philosophical, political, anthropological, literary, artistic, and related dimensions of these fields across all eras and regions. The journal aspires to establish itself as a premier global platform for innovative discoveries and critical discussions in these domains. Scholars from around the world with interests in these areas are warmly encouraged to submit their manuscripts to Teosofi and to engage with this open-access resource. Priority is given to submissions that demonstrate originality and timeliness.

Manuscripts should be composed in American English and range from approximately 6,500 to 8,500 words, encompassing the main text, tables, figures, endnotes, references, and any appendices designated for publication. All submissions must include a 200-word abstract and five keywords. English translations must accompany quotations, excerpts, and terms in non-English languages.
