Mutawatir: Jurnal Keilmuan Tafsir Hadith is a biannual, peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Department of Qur’an and Hadith, Faculty of Ushuluddin and Philosophy, Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Ampel Surabaya, Indonesia. It advances the scholarly study of Qur’anic and Hadith interpretation by integrating classical Islamic exegesis with contemporary interdisciplinary approaches. The journal fosters dialogue within the humanities and social sciences, emphasizing the relevance of sacred texts in global cultural and intellectual contexts.

Mutawatir publishes original English-language research using qualitative methodologies, such as hermeneutical and comparative analyses, to explore the interplay between the Qur’an, Hadith, and modern issues. It welcomes submissions on topics including linguistic and literary analyses, commentary traditions, ethical and legal influences, modern contexts (e.g., media, digital culture), cross-cultural studies, and interdisciplinary research in philology, history, anthropology, and religious studies. The journal highlights Indonesia’s interpretive traditions while encouraging transnational scholarship with academic and policy relevance.

Mutawatir targets researchers, academics, graduate students, and policymakers in Qur’anic, Hadith, and Islamic studies, appealing to those exploring sacred texts as dynamic traditions in contemporary Muslim societies and global discourse.

Since December 2015, the journal has been accredited at Level B (SINTA 2), with its accreditation renewed in 2021 by the Ministry of Research and Technology/National Agency for Research and Innovation
