The Journal of Ushuluddin and Islamic Thought (JUIT) is an international peer-reviewed publication affiliated with the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Philosophy, UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, Indonesia. The journal publishes original research on the Qur'an and Hadith through both textual and contextual approaches, engaging classical Islamic scholarship alongside contemporary academic debates. Its scope spans multiple disciplines, including linguistics, literary studies, anthropology, sociology, philosophy, history, comparative religion, manuscript studies, and digital humanities, with dedicated focus areas covering hermeneutical frameworks, manuscript criticism, comparative scriptural studies, intersections with Late Antiquity, and the Living Qur'an and Hadith as practiced traditions.

JUIT serves as a platform for methodologically innovative and interdisciplinary scholarship addressing both theoretical foundations and empirical developments in Qur'anic and Hadith Studies. The journal prioritizes contributions that advance broader academic discourse on how Islamic foundational texts are interpreted and practiced across diverse historical and contemporary contexts. It is directed toward an international readership of scholars, researchers, and graduate students, and is supported by an editorial board comprising distinguished academics from multiple scholarly traditions and regions, reflecting its commitment to intellectual rigor and global academic engagement.

The journal holds national accreditation at Rank 2 (SINTA 2) under Decree No. 2/C/C3/KPT/2026, issued by the Directorate General of Research and Development, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, valid from Volume 1, Number 1 (2023) through Volume 5, Number 2 (2027).
